What to Expect-
Workshop participants ease into the day with creative prompts and a welcome circle to get grounded and set the tone.

Our first few minutes focuses on the equipment and set up our of working area. From tool basics to brush care and simple composition tips, you’ll start building confidence and finding your creative rhythm.

Color Wheel Theory, Mixing Colors, Shades, Tints, & more! Why layering is important in watercolor.

With the basics fresh, we’ll dive into hands-on techniques. We’ll explore shape, scale, and movement while encouraging personal style through some practice. We will discuss how to achieve different textures, shadows and how to get hightlights. Let’s pick a project and begin!

To close the day, you’ll finish up your final piece. You can add to it if you like or begin cleaning up. We’ll reflect on your process and celebrate the creativity that unfolded.

Keely is a lifelong educator with a passion for creating accessible, engaging learning experiences. Known for a “passionate” teaching style, Keely believes that growth happens when learners feel both challenged and can laugh at their mistakes.
Iceseas Siebenthal
Iceseas is a compassionate instructor who’s spent the past few years helping peers her age in their foster care home with learning new habits, developing new skills and appreciating what creative arts can do for mental health. Her approach is calm, clear and supportive.
Julie Sydes
Julie is a graduate of UNCW and received her major in Studio Art. She is multi talented and will absolutely bend over backwards to help you if you are stuck. She is known to be funny, kind and creative.
